Ezit Georgine Froneman (Louw) grew up in Port Elizabeth, in the Eastern Cape Province of South Africa.
She grew up in a family where her Mom, Marie, was a seasoned artist and her Dad, Schalk, was confident as a Calligrapher.
She attended the University of Port Elizabeth from 1974 – 1977 there she studied Education of Junior Primary Students, with Music as a Major and did a Post Graduate year for Education of children with Special Needs.
In 1980 Ezit and her Mom attended a year course in Fine Arts at the Port Elizabeth Technical College.
After moving to Dundee, KwaZulu Natal, the Mom and daughter team started another art venture. What started off as a craft project, escalated into a factory creating numerous tablecloths, cushions, placemats, dresses and waistcoats in unique Ezit’s Art style with fabric art. Exhibiting all over South Africa at the Art Festivals, this became a lifestyle until 2008.

Ezit and Carel, her husband, immigrated to Canada in 2017 where she founded Ezit’s Art School in Battleford, Saskatchewan. Despite Covid, this venture thrived and the quality of art work by students was very pleasing. The fulfilling experience of nurturing and inspiring other artists also refined her own style.
They relocated to Penticton in 2022 where they joined up with family. The Art School soon opened to students from Penticton and the beautiful Okanagan.
Ezit's passion is teaching, but it is art that fuels her fire
